Cooking Activities

Cooking or baking activities offer a great way to promote multi-sensory stimulation and promote the recall of positive memories (Bhg-Admin, 2022). Individuals can touch the ingredients as they make the food, can smell all the tasty scents that come along with baking and cooking, see all the colors of the food, and finally taste the final product (if they didn't already sneak a taste along the way!).  Multi-sensory stimulation has been seen to have improved mood, communication, alertness, and behaviors (Baker et al., 2001). Not to mention, cooking/baking can be a great way to stimulate their appetite!
